Head's Corner

Dear Saklan Community:

Please allow me to start with a quick health update. Earlier this week, the head lice returned for a very short stay. We had two students in the Rainbow kids come to school infected; they were sent home; the problem addressed; and the students returned the next day. The last few days we have been lice free.

I have not been informed about any new cases of H1N1 or any students who presented flu like symptoms. We have two students who have strep throat; they are home and taking antibiotics.

A quick reminder that next Tuesday, November 17th, is a noon dismissal. The teachers will be working on their first trimester report cards. Extended Day will be available, as usual, until 6:00. Tuesday, the 17th, is also Picture Make-up Day; forms and additional information will be sent home today with your children. There seems to be some confusion regarding the Friday before Thanksgiving Vacation. Friday, November 20th, is a full day. Extended Day will not be available after 3:30.

Please join us this Sunday from 2:00 to 4:00 for OPEN HOUSE. This will be an excellent opportunity to talk with teachers, tour classrooms, and get a preview of the program for your next year. I look forward to seeing you there.

GIRLS SOCCER - Grades: 1 - 2 - starts Monday

Mondays, 3:30—4:30
Dates: November 16 and 30
December 7 and 14
January 4 , 11 and 25
Location: Basketball court
Fee: $15

This class will emphasize dribbling, passing, ball control and field positioning. The children will use drills with lots of repetition. They will concentrate on using proper techniques and speed.

Please wear tennis shoes. Shin guards are recommended. Balls, cones and other materials will be provided. Please click here to download a sign up sheet.
