Featured 7th Grade Art

From the head of School

Dear Saklan Community:

It has been another busy week. The students handled the rain-inspired changes beautifully. During indoor recesses and PE, always adult favorites, the kids behaved wonderfully, cooperated with each other, and generally ignored the lousy weather.

Next week features Parent Conferences. Thursday is a noon dismissal with conferences beginning soon after. On Friday school is not in session; however, teachers will be conducting conferences. Parents of Lower School students sign-up with the classroom teacher; Middle School parents need to go to the Main Office to arrange conferences. We schedule parent conferences at this time of the year because it is the approximate midpoint of the first trimester; this allows students to make adjustments, if necessary, to their effort, study habits, and academic/social performances. The next set of Parent Conferences is at the end of the second trimester in March.

If you can not make either conference day, please contact your child’s teacher to schedule an appointment. Middle School parents should contact Ms. Parks or individual teachers to arrange a conference. You never have to wait until “official” parent conference day to speak with teachers; with a phone call or email, you can arrange a conference at your request.

Earlier today I sent an email regarding our first (and probably not last) encounter with the flu.
Thank you again for helping us limit its proliferation and impact on the community.

Have a great weekend and enjoy this great weather while it lasts.
