Head's Corner

Dear Saklan Community:

Even at the end of the year, the energy on campus is contagious.  On Thursday, the third grade presented their terrific poems, the second grade had their spectacular Open House, and the fourth grade visited the Sacramento for the day.  At Flag we were treated with a rousing rendition of School’s out for Summer by Mac and James.  We have Family Group Field Day and Carnival today.  Monday is Early Childhood’s Wet, Wild, and Messy Day and Graduation Dinner at Scotts Garden Restaurant.  Life is good.

End of the year class parties are on Tuesday.  Room parents and classroom teachers have the specific details and are organizing the activities.

Graduation is on Wednesday and begins promptly at 9:00 AM in the church next door.  Students should wear their dress uniforms for the ceremony as they will be presenting and/or performing for the eighth graders.

I apologize for the abruptness of this week’s message; the dunk tank and enthusiastic students await.  In August you will receive all the forms and information about next year.

Enjoy your children and your summer.

Scholastic Annual Book Fair

The annual book fair held in the library was a great success this year. Many thanks to families who purchased summer reading books. The kids seemed to have great fun coming in and making their wish lists of books. The book fair brought in close to $3000.00 giving Saklan a Scholastic credit of $1300.00 for future book purchases.

This event does not run itself and big thanks go to, Lisa Rokas, Kay Long-Martin, Hillary Conlon, Leena Ray, Mary Howard, Carol Goldman, and Wendi Leonard.

Have fun reading!
Annie Barendregt, Library Volunteer
