From The Head of School

Dear Saklan Community:

Wednesday, May 27th, is a noon dismissal/Professional Development Day. The teachers and I will be finishing the rough draft of the CAIS/WASC self-evaluation. Our hope is to have it completed before summer vacation so I can assemble each section for review in the fall.

I invite you to attend the Middle School’s presentation of “Into the Woods”. If you enjoyed the concert, you’ll love this play. Tickets are available in the office.

Below please allow me to briefly outline the end of the year events. For more detailed information, please contact your room parent, teacher, or Karen Lane.

• 8 5:30 Scott’s Dinner (8th grade)
• 9 Class parties (locations below)
• 10 9:00 Graduation

Class Party Locations:

• ECE Programs: Rancho Laguna in Moraga
• Kindergarten: Stays at school and rules the roost
• Grades 1-4: Moraga Commons
• Grades 5-8: The Thimeschs’ house

Into the Woods Jr. - Friday 22nd at JM Auditorium

Into the Woods Jr. will be performed on Friday the 22nd at JM Auditorium. Tickets are available from Karen in the office for $5.00. The show will sell out, get your tickets ASAP!

From the Library

Please help your child find their lost/missing/overdue library book(s). In some cases, books that could not be located for a number of weeks were marked as "lost" or "missing" in the automated system to allow your child to check out. Inventory will begin the week of May 31st, so your assistance in locating and returning all library books is greatly appreciated

Scholastic Book Fair Results

A huge thank you to all the parent volunteers and to the Saklan community for supporting the book fair! Record sales with a total of $2,634.40. Saklan will receive book profit which is 50% of net sales and pays for the books that the teachers and specialists have selected for their classrooms.
